In my podcast interview with Paco De Leon, author, entrepreneur, illustrator and musician, she shares her brilliance on how to become financially literate, how to tackle debt and build wealth from her book, Finance for the People.
Her perspective on personal finance sets her apart from other financial gurus, who adopt a more objective approach and fail to point out that systemic inequality like racism, sexism, homophobia and classism play a major role in the wage gap and why it’s a constant struggle for people from marginalized communities to get out of poverty and actually build wealth.
She also incorporates mindset (which as a coach I love!) and offers useful tips and insights that explain A LOT about why we’re so weird about money and how to have a healthier financial life.

I spent years in relationships expecting them to magically work. I assumed love and affection was all you needed to succeed.
Today, I know that healthy and secure relationships don’t just happen. They are built intentionally, with you two showing up as a team. You need more structure than you think.
Bottom line - you gotta do what works, even if it seems unromantic or unsexy at times. Because when you are intentional in this way, it can create more space for all the sexy and romantic things.

Read MoreIn my podcast episode with Andrea Mesa, she talks about facing her fears and big goals in the journey to entrepreneurship. She tells the story about how she almost quit after working with her first client which turned out to be a nightmare. Andrea pushed through and ended up moving away from her hometown of Miami across the Atlantic to start her life and business from scratch in Barcelona, where she didn’t know a single soul.
And throughout the ups and downs, the risk and uncertainty, the one thing that helped ground her was staying connected to her purpose.

In my interview with Dedy Tien, 7x author, business coach and bodybuilder, he shares his powerful life story: from being homeless, illiterate and growing up in poverty in East Timor to achieving levels of success beyond his wildest dreams.

Read MoreIn my interview with a Fear and Relationship Expert, Joseph Braccio, he shares his perspective on the topic of identity and how we tend to live with a false sense of who we really are. When we become attached to our labels (gender, race, class, occupation), it creates separation and suffering. Joseph shares that when we ask ourselves the question, “Who am I?”, is almost impossible to answer. But we do have a core, authentic self - a way of being in true alignment. And a way to get to that place is through facing our fears.

In an interview with my friend, coach and healer Anné Klint, I share what it was like as an intersectional minority in a male dominated workplace. I talk about how I whitewashed myself to find a sense of belonging and “look the part” to portray the perfect employee. But what actually ended up happening was that I completely disconnected from myself.
This self-abandoning behavior began to take a toll on my well being, my relationships and my career.
Changing careers and moving away from my old work environment gave me the space to heal and develop a stronger sense of self.
I no longer find myself conforming to other ways of being, people pleasing and overworking like I used to.
My experiences taught me a lot and gave me the inspiration to support other women who are on similar paths in their lives and careers.
This week on the podcast, I’m delighted to share a conversation that I have with my dear friend, Natasha Mooney Walton. She tells her story of how she connected deeper with her identity by coming out as non-binary. Throughout her life and career she explained that there were a lot of things that caused pain and adversity. And by going through a big journey and accessing her true self and gender identity, she was able to find alignment and strength in multiple areas of her life.
As a friend and podcast host, I am proud to share stories of people from marginalized communities like Natasha. I think they are some of the most courageous because they have to work harder, and do it with less resources and support, and oftentimes some opposition.
I wish I had someone like Nicole Miller in my life back then, she’s a therapist who specializes in effective communication. We had a great conversation on the podcast about how to deepen the connections in all types of relationships - romantic and platonic. She shares why it’s important to learn how to communicate constructively and offers useful ways on how to do this.
I’ve come a long way from how I used to deal with hard conversations. Over the years I’ve learned how to communicate better and to resolve conflict productively. Thank goodness. It’s given me the opportunity to cultivate deeper relationships with family, friends and my partner and has boosted my confidence and self esteem.
In my conversation with Holistic Trauma & Relationship Coach Cassandra Michael, we talked about inner child healing and how it’s the pathway to creating a healthy relationship.
Cassandra’s mission is to help men and women break free from unhealthy patterns by healing old wounds, rewiring limiting beliefs and stepping into their authenticity, so they can attract a soul-aligned partnership and experience deep, long-lasting love.

While I believe that love is these things, it’s also so much more than that. Don’t you think?
In my latest podcast episode, I share with you 10 (hard-earned) lessons I learned about love.
I’m curious to hear, which one of these lessons resonates with you the most?
In my latest podcast episode, I talk about the most important relationship of all: the one we have with ourselves. I discuss why it’s necessary to cultivate a strong connection with yourself and what could happen if you don’t. I also share 15 useful tips on how to build a strong self-relationship.
At the end of the episode I offer a FREE gift, a downloadable audio guide called the Mind, Body and Soul Check in. It’s something I learned from attending the Hoffman Process a few years back that helps me connect with all parts of myself. I practice it every morning and I wanted to share my version with you. You can also download it right away here.
In my conversation with Janice Laurente, Communications Strategist and diplomat for the US government, she shares her personal and professional experience with making big changes multiple times in her life: from providing disaster relief in Haiti after the devastating 2010 earthquake, to moving back to the US to manifest her dream relationship after living in Indonesia for 6 years, and relocating to South Africa where she now lives with her life partner.
Janice gives us her expert advice on how and when it’s time to make a change on The Undercurrent Podcast.
My two cents on making a life change? Start small. And with each shift you make, feel into them and notice if your actions serve you. Stay put if you feel good and satisfied. If not, spend time contemplating your next move.
One way you can start small is by downloading my FREE guide: 75 Questions to Change your life. It’s a pdf with a long list of reflection questions that will help you gain awareness and clarity around where you are in life right now and where you might want to go in the future.
In my interview with Giulia Mulè, she shares her experiences in making a home in multiple new environments. After growing up in Rome, she moved to London for 12 years where she met her husband and became a full-time travel and food blogger. She spent some time living alone in Bali (where we met!), and recently relocated to Wroclaw, Poland, where she is starting over again.
We talk about what it took for her to create a home in each city she moved to and how she was able to find community and belonging.
She also shares her full circle journey of leaving her 9-5 job, to having the ultimate freedom from being an Instagram influencer, to joining the workforce again while still being able to share her passions with the world.
I look forward to what life will be like in Bali after a few months away. I’m excited to integrate my experiences and new perspectives into my daily routine.
Will keep you posted of course.
In my interview with Rox Marthinussen, she shares a similar story of how life worked out in her favor in an unexpected way.
After struggling in her career as one of the only women of color in a white male dominated industry, she made a plan to transition out of her role and dive into a new one as a life coach and entrepreneur.
The road was far from easy, filled with bumps and detours and even disease.Despite her obstacles and failed plans, she was able to change her life and heal physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Having a plan to achieve your goals is a good thing. It’s recommended! But instead of becoming attached to how it’s supposed to happen, stay open and curious for other possible and surprising ways your dreams can come true.
Read MoreIn my interview with Susanne Rieker, business coach, podcast coast and world traveler, she shares her life journey and the big successes she experienced only after she turned 40.
When you listen to the episode, you’ll hear Susanne talk about the details of how she was able to move out of her full time job in advertising (where she worked 60-70 hours per week), to starting her online business, traveling the world full-time and even becoming a yoga teacher. You’ll also learn about what it takes to change your mindset when going through a total life transformation.
If you feel like hitting the ground running this time of year, go for it! And if you feel like hanging back, reflecting and contemplating your next move, amazing. Do that!
Read MorePersonally I grew a lot this year. I started my podcast, hired my first team and met my amazing partner, Mario.
I also stumbled: I broke my nose, had a failed launch and lost touch with some friends that were once a big part of my life.
Through these ups and downs I learned very valuable lessons. These are gifts that I’m taking with me into 2022 and beyond.
I created a whole podcast episode on these lessons and the practices I used to integrate them into my life. I hope that after listening, you might get some value out of them too.
